What do you do? What do you do when you have over ripe bananas? You know, the bananas that have ripened beyond the point of anyone wanting to eat them. Do you throw them in the trash? Do you freeze them to bake with on another day? Or, do you choose to use them to make something delicious for your family that day? If you are like me, you have done all three! But I try to either bake something with them or freeze them for using later. Chocolate Banana Cake! (Cooking with Grandkids)

Chocolate Banana Cake for Daddy! The day before Trey was to come home from the hospital, Benson baked his daddy a Chocolate Banana Cake. The night before, I had asked all three of them, Bethany, Brady and Benson, what they wanted to cook for their dad. Gob Cake! A Pennsylvania specialty!

Gob Cake, a special treat from my Pennsylvania friend! I work at Candace's shop a couple of days a week. I call it her "shop", but it is actually a small specialty restaurant. Kayla Shaulis, her manager, is from Pennsylvania. We've had many discussions of favorite recipes and foods from her "neck of the woods". So, for Christmas, she gave me a collection of Pennsylvania recipes and made this Gob Cake for our Chef Candace Christmas Party.
