Pecan Toffee Bark. . .Mama’s fav!

Pecan Toffee Bark . . . Mama's favorite treat! Candace made an almond Toffee for Valentine's Day and gave Mama a bag of it when we went to her shop for lunch the Friday before the holiday. Mama was like a kid in a candy store! She ate that candy all the way from Cabot to Hazen and kept saying how good it was! I told her I had a recipe for a Pecan Toffee, and we would make it. It's not Candace's recipe, but it's still really good! So, the next time I went to Mama's, she and I made it. (above) She gave me a bag to take home for Lynn (below). Basically it has just a few … [Read more...]

Easy Chocolate Fudge Recipe

Who has the time or the know-how to continually check to be sure the fudge is at the right temperature? You can, of course, use candy thermometers if you choose, but in the days of my Grandmama Hall and my mother, they had to do it the hard way. I found this Easy Chocolate Fudge Recipe many years ago. . . when my children were small. I have kept … [Read more...]

Caramel Popcorn Crunch Recipe

Caramel Popcorn Crunch Candy . . . Who doesn't like caramel popcorn? One day my granddaughter, Randa, was here, and we decided we would make this Caramel Popcorn Crunch Recipe. We had been talking about Popcorn Balls earlier, but I thought that might be a little difficult for her to help me with. So, we chose this popcorn candy recipe instead. She popped the popcorn in the microwave. (I had purchased a natural popcorn, no butter or seasoning of any kind, in order to make this recipe.) I toasted the pecan halves and slivered almonds in the oven, but you can use the microwave. (Check on the internet for instructions on that, if you decide to do that.) Randa then helped me measure the other ingredients in the pan for the caramel.  I … [Read more...]
