Forgiveness from The Love Themes Albume

“Forgiveness”, the Key to Love . . .

Love . . . that eternal emotion that we, as humans, long for. We want to love our spouse, children and other family members. And, in return, we want to be loved by them. But, sometimes, hurts and wounds can cause our relationships to suffer, and the love we so desperately desire, be at a distance. However, there is a Key that unlocks the door to the heart of even the most “unlovable” person. And, that key is “Forgiveness”.

What is “Forgiveness”?

What is forgiveness? We’ve all heard, “You need to forgive everyone who hurts you.” Sounds easy. Right? But, sometimes the hurts and wounds run so deep, it seems like an impossible task. And, as humans, it sometimes is . . . it, at times, requires an act of our own will to forgive those who hurt us. But through Christ, all things are possible . . . even forgiving those who have wronged us.

A definition for forgiveness can be,  giving up my desire to hurt you, for hurting me. In an article by All About God, forgiveness means to “wipe the slate clean, to pardon, to cancel a debt. When we wrong someone, we seek his or her forgiveness in order for the relationship to be restored. It is important to remember that forgiveness is not granted because a person deserves to be forgiven. Instead, it is an act of love, mercy, and grace.”

Isn’t that interesting? Forgiveness is not GRANTED because the person DESERVES it. And, it is done as an act of our own will through love, mercy and grace.

We all need Forgiveness . . .

As humans, we need forgiveness everyday. We aren’t perfect. And, God extends to us forgiveness, mercy and grace. We, in turn, are called upon to forgive others, and to extend to them mercy and grace. It is sometimes easier than other times. But, it is possible . . . when we decide to forgive ANYWAY . . . regardless of the offense.

Love Themes

“Forgiveness”, the song . . .from the “Love Themes” album

The song, “Forgiveness” is based on the Hebraic motive for the word “forgiveness”. The tones are arranged to “sound” like what the word means. As I played this song for my husband’s niece, she began to weep uncontrollably. Unknowing to us, her husband, who had died suddenly a few years earlier, left this earth with unresolved issues between them, including unforgiveness. The song ministered to her heart, bringing her to a place where she could face the problem and talk it out. While her husband was gone, with no way to make things right in the physical realm, she was able to get beyond that place and forgive him.

As you listen to this song, let the music minister to your heart. Think about the power of love and forgiveness. And, if there is anyone that you have not forgiven, come to the place to let it all go. Walk free, forgiven, and in love.
