The Salisbury Steak simmered in the gravy is extremely flavorful, even to the point of melting in your mouth! Delicious!!! Sure to be a family favorite at your house, like it is at mine! Candace's Welcome Home from the hospital . . . Saturday afternoon, Candace was released from the hospital following her hernia surgery. So, I told her I would cook dinner for them. Cast Iron Skillet Burgers!

Burgers for the 4th! I've always wanted to be able to cook a really burger INSIDE the house! You know, sometimes it's just not convenient to "fire up the grill", as we say in Arkansas. But, my hamburgers cooked on the stove have been blah and generally disappointing. Spaghetti and Meat Sauce, A Family Gathering

Family . . . Family . . . those cherished loved ones that mean the world to you. And when you get an opportunity to spend time with them, you do! That's how I see it, anyway. Carrie and John Baker, Lynn's daughter and son-in-law This past weekend, Lynn's daughter, Carrie, and her husband, John, drove down from Olive Branch, Mississippi, to spend some time with us. Filet Mignon with Sautéed Onions

Lynn needs protein! Because Lynn is still recovering from his surgery two months ago, the doctors told him to continue to eat a lot of protein. That's perfectly understandable because of the muscles that were cut during the procedure. With that said, I know that he and I both get tired of hamburger meat and chicken:) Who's with me on that? I remembered a Filet Mignon with Sautéed Onions recipe I had made years ago, and thought that would be something that he would like and would provide needed protein. Why not a filet? Swiss Steak, a family favorite!

Swiss Steak, a family favorite! Years ago, when my children were small, I would make this Swiss Steak recipe. I was always looking for different ways to use beef, which was our favorite meat at the time. This recipe came out in some cookbook that I have since given away:( I have cooked round steak many ways over the years, but this Swiss Steak has so much flavor and the meat is fork-tender.
